If you spend a lot of time in the remote outdoors camping and backpacking it is highly recommended that you and everyone in your group take at least a basic first aid course. Carrying a camping first aid kit will not do you much good if when the need arises you do not know how to use anything within the kit but a band-aid. Many areas have first aid courses available and in some places a wilderness specific course can be found so that when an emergency arises in the backcountry you will be prepared on how to use the outdoor first aid kit you carry in your camping supplies.
