The choice between a internal frame camping backpack or a external frame backpack is really just a matter of personal preference. There are those who will tout one type of pack over the other, but the arguments for or against one style is something you need to decide based on your comforts and needs.
Both backpacks will hold all your camping supplies easily if you buy the proper size for the time you plan on staying hiking and for the camping gear you plan on taking. Some feel it is easier to pack the external pack, yet many feel it is more cumbersome on the trail. While others prefer the better fitting internal frame backpack, and others feel it is too warm sitting on their back. If you can try both styles before you make your backpack choice.
