I really never did like the odor, which came from Coleman camping lanterns that my father used that ran on kerosene. Luckily today there are many models available that run on various fuels so you can find just the camping lantern that you prefer for your needs. Coleman lanterns now come in models that run on kerosene, propane, and even batteries making it easier than ever to light up your campsite. Plus there are also kid specific lanterns so the smallest campers can have their own lantern which is safe for them to use and parents can have the peace of mind that the kids are outfitted with the best camping gear available.
