Shopping for the right sleeping bag for the given temperature you will be experiencing can sometimes be a little tough. Do to the varying materials used in sleeping bags and most importantly to the varying ideas by people of what is cold the rating that may work for one person may not work for another. Therefore the temperature rating on a sleeping bag should be considered as a guideline but not an absolute. If you tend to sleep cold than you may want to get a sleeping bag that is rated for lower temperatures than someone who does not. My personal general rule is I would rather have more sleeping bag warmth than I need on a trip than not enough.
