One mistake many campers make when trying to sleep outdoors in the fall and winter is tucking their nose and mouth into their sleeping bags to be warmer while they sleep. While this may work at first and warm up your face as the night progresses the condensation inside your sleeping bag collects and begins to freeze the insulation making it useless in helping you retain your body heat throughout the night. Instead get a balaclava or other piece of clothing that covers your mouth and nose and cinch your head up in the drawstring hood of your sleeping bag. This will help you stay warm all night long despite the much cooler temps outside.
