Camping Dan's Outdoor Tips Posting Page

In many parts of the country the bears are making their large final push to get enough calories before winter to ensure they will have the body fat needed to stay in hibernation. For the camper this means they are a little more bold and pushy especially if the area suffered from a summer drought of something that reduced the fuel supply for them. If you are camping in an area that has bears make sure you do not eat in your camping tent or sleeping bags as the odor of food will attract them and you do not want to attract them to your sleeping area. Also make sure you do not have food lying around your camp and you either hang your food or use a bear container.
