Beginning campers never start out with all the camping equipment they need, there is always a piece of gear they do not know they need until they are outdoors and away from home. The basics are easy to remember and most people start out with these such as sleeping bags, Coleman coolers, and camping tents.
Camping gear is one of those things that avid outdoorsmen will continually add new pieces to all the time. Every time you are out there will be a new piece of gear you want such as camping tools. Also technology is ever changing and leaps and bounds is being made in such things as camping water filters. So you will never have all the gear you need, but you can keep adding to it. Cooking for my family and myself is extremely easy on the Coleman 2 burner stove! I have to admit mine is getting a little old, but it still lights easily and cooks perfectly. Before I looked into Coleman stoves I owned several other brands, but the Coleman has been the one to withstand the test of time that many, many camping trips have thrown at it.
This handy camping stove runs on Coleman fuel and unleaded fuel both of which are easy to find almost anywhere. The fuel cartridge holds enough fuel that I can cook all 3 meals for the day without needing to refuel. Though mine still works exceptionally well, I am considering an upgrade to the Coleman 3 burner camp stove. The days may be getting longer, but it still never fails that by the time I am ready to make dinner when on a camping trip it is starting to get dark. I struggle to cook as it is, I don’t need a lack of light to make it even harder than it needs to be.
I great fix for this problem lanterns in your camp! When I was young I remember lanterns as not being very bright, but those such as the Coleman lanterns have gotten to be exceptional producers of light for your camp making cooking and getting ready for bed so much easier than in the dark. Now that spring is here I have pulled out my personal camping gear, and I remember now that I need a new tent. Of course I new a needed a new one last fall when I stored my gear away, but it was a long winter and camping tents just were not on my mind then. But they are now!
When selecting your tent you need to decide how you plan on using your tent so that you can select the style that is right for your needs. I personally do some backpacking, sometimes alone and sometimes with my daughter. For me a lightweight backpacking tent that sleeps 2 will be the best choice for my needs. Think about how you want to use your tent and how much comfort you want and you will be able to decide which one you need to add to your camping supplies. For new camping food ideas consider using a Camp Chef dutch oven to add variety and cooking ease to your camping trips. I personally was a little intimidated by cooking my food on while camping with a dutch oven. I am not sure why, but I just was.
There are many recipes available to cook such things as stew, chili cheese fries, French toast, and even cobbler in dutch ovens. Once you master cooking with this handy piece of camping gear, you will think you are not eating at all before. The recipes are so satisfying and filling while being extremely simple to make, you will never view meal time the same while camping. A very easy way to carry a large amount of water for a big group is to use a Coleman beverage cooler. These coolers are specially designed to hold plenty of liquid and keep it cold for an extended period of time.
These Coleman coolers come in a variety of size capacities from 1 to 5 gallons to carry enough to drink for everyone. They are really easy to fill and many have an easy faucet system, which will not leak, but yet makes it easy to fill your cup, even with full hands. These coolers are handy for camping trips where fresh water will not be available, baseball teams, and even family reunions. You will wonder how you ever got along without this handy piece of camping gear! Labels: camping gear, coleman beverage coolers, coleman coolers by: SummitCampingGear 0 Comments Links to this post

My favorite piece of camping gear is my Gerber Multitool! I thought they were big and clumsy looking at first, but once one was purchased for me as a gift I feel in love with it. All the years I have camped without a Gerber tool I look back now and wonder how I got by without it.
Of course for me the knife is the most used function, but the pliers themselves follow that closely. I carry the handy camping tool with me around camp, on hikes, even while rock climbing and I have to confess many times the handy tool has gotten me out of a jam. They make great gifts for an avid camper, or even yourself. Labels: camping gear, camping tool, gerber tool by: SummitCampingGear 0 Comments Links to this post

Whether you are just walking downtown or hiking through a National Park, a camping kid carrier is a great way to take your young toddlers along. Strollers can be so hard to steer, are bulky and cumbersome while backpack kid carriers are so much easier to use in all situations.
Carrying your child can be as simple and easy as carrying a backpack! This leaves your hands free to carry bags, take pictures, or hand snacks up to your child. This is one piece of camping gear I wish I had owned when my daughter was young! Labels: backpack kids carrier, camping gear, camping kid carrier by: SummitCampingGear 0 Comments Links to this post

It has been a very wet winter with plenty of snow and rain in most parts of the country. This is great for the overall environment, but it means there will be lots of insects this spring and summer to make your camping trips more … buggy.

Spring break is on the way and it has my kids thinking about heading to the lake and enjoying the water! The water temperature is a little cool right now for swimming, but with a Coleman inflatable kayak it is easy to paddle around the lake and fish or just do a little bird watching or sightseeing.
When many people think of coleman products they do not realize that the company also makes these fun inflatable boats and toys for enjoying on the water. Whether you are just spending the day at the lake or if you are staying all weekend and need coleman camping gear, Coleman can cover all your families leisure needs. As spring approaches camping is increasingly more and more on the outdoor lovers mind. This is a great time of year to get out and watch the plants and animals emerging from the long cold winter. A great piece of camping equipment to add to your supplies is a pair of coleman binoculars.
One of the largest outdoor user groups today is the bird watching crowd. There are thousands who plan camping trips around migrating birds and the potential of ticking another species off their life list. You do not have to be an avid birdwatcher to add a pair of binoculars to your camping supplies and enjoy the colors and grace of birds. There are many useful cooking accessories you can get from coleman camping gear to help you prepare great meals without a kitchen, whether you are at a formal campground or in the remote backcountry.
There is camping kitchen gear for every task from transporting your food in coleman coolers, to preparing your food, to camping cook sets, and even mess kits for eating off of it. Coleman even has specialty items such as coffee percolators, toasters, and my personal favorite the coleman broiler basket. This basket is great for cooking vegetables over an open fire without worry about dropping any into the ashes. There are many kitchen options available if you have it at home you can probably get an outdoor camping version. by: SummitCampingGear 0 Comments Links to this post

It is the time of year when camping in the desert southwest is at its absolute best! The daytime temperature is perfect while the nighttime temperature is not too cool to sleep comfortably.
When camping in the desert make sure you take along plenty of water, as even in the spring finding water sources is very tough. There are many Coleman coolers just for beverages, and lots of water bottle varieties on the market to help you carry water on these trips. I also recommend you ensure you have at least a small simple first aid kit in your camping gear. It is easy to get cactus spines in feet in hands while in the southwest, and a camping first aid kit is essential to get the those pesky stickers out. by: SummitCampingGear 0 Comments Links to this post

When you go camping you don’t have to rough it if that is not your style. There is plenty of camping gear available to make your time outdoors more enjoyable and fun.
Coleman camping chairs are a great start for making camp feel a little more like home. Sitting on a log is great when you are a kid, but for most adults a nice chair with a back really can make the difference on keeping backaches away, which could otherwise spoil a trip. Many of these camping chairs come with handy cup holders in the arm for holding your drink to help avoid spills. There are also models available with side pouches and even sunshades for extra convenience and comfort.
