Really the choice between a mummy style sleeping bag and the more traditional square sleeping bag is a matter of personal preference. Mummy sleeping bags are warmer as the shape does a better job of insulating your body from the cold temperatures outside. While some prefer the square style camping sleeping bags since these allow more freedom of movement since they are roomier inside than the mummy. If you spend quite a bit of time in cold climes or if you tend to sleep colder in general than the mummy sleeping bag would be the better choice. But if not than it is really a matter of what you prefer when you sleep.

If you are like me, you like to fish but you just aren’t that good at catching them for some reason. Baimate fish attractants are a great remedy for this since they make your hook seem more appealing to the fish that are in the water. There are several formulas of fish attractant so that you can hone in on the exact species you are hoping to catch on your fishing trip. Some may say that adding Baimate fish attractant to your camping supplies is an advantage to you over the fish, but if you are like me you need every advantage you can get.

I really never did like the odor, which came from Coleman camping lanterns that my father used that ran on kerosene. Luckily today there are many models available that run on various fuels so you can find just the camping lantern that you prefer for your needs. Coleman lanterns now come in models that run on kerosene, propane, and even batteries making it easier than ever to light up your campsite. Plus there are also kid specific lanterns so the smallest campers can have their own lantern which is safe for them to use and parents can have the peace of mind that the kids are outfitted with the best camping gear available.

If you take kids camping then you know just how easy it is for them to get absolutely filthy and with no bathtub in sight how can you clean them up. Luckily Coleman camping gear has been around a long time and knows what campers need even before they need it. The Coleman hot water on demand system is a great way to easily clean up after a long day in the outdoors when camping with your family. These camping hot water systems really are worth their weight in gold when you go for multi day outings and miss the comforts of home such as a shower.

Kids love to go camping, but face it, they never go to sleep when it is time they are so excited to be sleeping outside. One solution I have come up with is to put my daughter and her friends in their own Coleman kids tent, so that they can stay awake with their camping flashlights on telling stories while I get some shuteye. Coleman camping gear has all sorts of kids specific camping gear to make their trip outdoors just as fun as it is for adults, it not more fun! Outfit your kids today and start enjoying your camping trips in a whole new way.

Coleman inflatable kayaks are a great addition to your outdoor gear when heading with the family on a camping trip to the lake. These fun to use kayaks inflate easily with Coleman air pumps and take up very little space when not inflated so that getting them to and from the lake is a breeze. These inflatable kayaks come in one or two person models, which allow you to sit on top and paddle around with ease. There is no more convenient way to own a boat to explore the lake and fish out of. With no storage costs, fuel costs, and ease of use this is the best way to go for a fun boat to use this summer without breaking the bank.

The debate between whether to get a freestanding camping tent or a non-freestanding or staked tent is a matter of personal preference for many backpackers. Both tents have their advantages and disadvantages, which you need to evaluate against your situation. Freestanding backpacking tents tend to be sturdier in bad weather and have the advantage of being able to be set up anywhere since they require no stakes to be put in the ground. Yet this type tends to be heavier with the extra poles required to make them stand up well, and this can hinder a backpacking trek where weight is critical. While non-freestanding tents are much lighter since they have less hardware, but they are not as stable in heavy winds and rain as freestanding camping tents are.

A good sleeping bag should last you quite a long time if it is given proper care and treatment over the years. Some of the things to avoid with your sleeping bag; are excess sun, moisture, and of course sharp edges. Sharp edges and even shoes can rip holes in even the highest quality camping sleeping bags. Once a fabric is ripped it can be repaired but the overall integrity will go down. Excess moisture will encourage mold and mildew to grow in the filling of your sleeping bag so ensure that your sleeping bag is thoroughly dry before you go to store it when not in use. Excess sun can break down the fabric of your Coleman sleeping bag and this will make the structure less resistant to cuts and tears so try to keep the bag out of the sun as much as possible. With care you will enjoy your sleeping bag on many, many camping trips.

Camping cookware sets use to be large cumbersome and well, flat out ugly! Camping kitchen sets have come a long way, and you can get some very lightweight highly durable pots, pans, and more from newer materials that will last for years. Coleman kitchen sets and GSI outdoors kitchen gear are leading the way with camping kitchen supplies that is light enough for backpacking but durable enough for camping week in and week out even if you never leave the public campgrounds. Plus these kitchen products also look good enough you could get away with using them in your home and no one would know but you.

Mother’s Day is coming up and how about getting your mom something different this year? Coleman camping supplies can make a great gift for a mom who loves the great outdoors! Why get your mom something for the house when you know what she truly loves is to go camping with her family out of the house. Consider getting her some quality Bushnell binoculars for bird watching on your next camping trip. Or maybe consider a Coleman air mattress to make sure she sleeps comfortably during the night in her tent. Get your mom something she will love this year and get her some camping gear and get her outside this summer.

It is a beautiful time of year to be outdoors and go camping and hiking as a family to enjoy the natural world around us. If you have little ones sometimes going on a hike can be a real challenge. Toddlers get tired easily when they have to walk, and strollers do not always go where you would like to go. A great solution are camping kids carriers! These convenient easy to use carriers are just like camping backpacks in how they sit on your back and shoulders, but instead of carrying camping gear, they carry your most precious cargo. These wonderful packs free your hands and can make it easy to take your family anywhere your feet can take you.

Coleman coolers have been around a long time, and over the years they have changed just a little in appearance. But the overall performance of these coolers has made leaps and bounds that you can truly appreciate. On appearance the camping coolers now come with convenient wheels and better handles, as well as cup holders in the lid to make using the cooler that much easier. And the performance of the coolers is outstanding! Modern Coleman coolers now keep the items inside colder way longer than in the past so your ice will melt slower, your drinks will be colder, and your food will not spoil.
